Ghana

... announced their squad today. The Reuters guy says their selection is something of a surprise, with many players on their underperforming African Nations squad being cut. I'm not knowledgeable enough on Ghanian soccer to say, but one thing occurs to me looking at this team: it's going to have trouble scoring goals. Matthew Amoah's recent form for Borussia Dortmund has been steadily getting worse with every game he's played, (culminating in some Kirovski-esque ratings in the last two weeks) and no other name in the forward list really stands out. The onus will be on Appiah and Essien to provide a lot of support for their attackers, which will leave them vulnerable on the break.

Oh, and the country whose shirt resembles a tablecloth in a cheap Italian restaurant also announced their 23.
